International Animal Rights Day
People who share the planet with all kinds of different creatures sometimes need to be reminded that animals deserve to be treated with dignity, respect and care. Indeed, protecting the rights of animals to live free from harm, cruelty and neglect can help create a more compassionate and just world for all.
Whether furry or scaly, warm-blooded or cold-blooded, on land, in the air, or in the sea, all animals on Earth deserve fair and considerate treatment. The International Day of Animal Rights was established to raise awareness about animal rights and celebrate their importance. There are several ways to celebrate this day, such as educating children about animal rights, becoming a volunteer in an animal rights organization, or watching documentaries and films about animal rights and protection. Some recommended titles include "The Plague Dogs," "Food Inc," "I Am an Animal: The Story of Ingrid Newkirk and PETA," and "Free Willy."
