Přehrady a jezy - ano nebo ne? Mezinárodní den akce pro řeky je každoroční oslavou úspěchů v boji proti přehradám a za obnovu přírodního rázu řek. Tato iniciativa vznikla v roce 1997 na setkání v Brazílii. Lidé po celém světě se dnes setkávají, demonstrují a poukazují na rizika spojená s přehrazováním řek. Přehrazení řek může ohrozit místní obyvatele a zemědělce. Medvědi panda jsou pro Čínu zdrojem národní hrdosti. Existují dva poddruhy pandy - velká černobílá a Qinling hnědá. Pandy velké žijí pouze v odlehlých horských oblastech Číny. Od roku 2019 mají status zranitelného druhu, přestože ve volné přírodě jich zůstává méně než 2 000. Pandy hrají důležitou roli v ekosystému čínských bambusových lesů. Jejich nízká porodnost je jedním z faktorů ohrožení. Pro zachování pand je důležitá ochrana jejich životního prostředí. Lze je podpořit například adoptováním nebo sledováním dokumentů o pandách. V České republice pandy nejsou, ale několik evropských ZOO je chová.

Světový deň žiab sa oslavuje od roku 2009 a bol založený na ochranu rôznych druhov žiab pred vyhynutím. Žaby sú bezocasí obojživelníci, ktorých pôvod sa datuje takmer 256 miliónov rokov. V poslednom desaťročí však vyhynulo asi 170 druhov žiab, a to z rôznych dôvodov, ako je ľudská činnosť a plísňové infekcie. Populácia žiab výrazne poklesla od 50. rokov 20. storočia a približne tretina svetových druhov je kriticky ohrozená. Mnoho ochranárskych biológov pracuje na hľadaní a pochopení príčin týchto problémov a spôsobov ich riešenia. Žaby majú vynikajúce nočné videnie a mnoho druhov dokáže doskočiť viac než 20-násobok svojej dĺžky. Jedovaté druhy žiab sú často výrazne zafarbené a upozorňujú predátora na jedovatosť svojej kože.

The intensification of agriculture also affects the population of tree sparrows by reducing their food sources. The World Sparrow Day is an official event dedicated to raising awareness about the declining sparrow population. House sparrows are larger and predominantly live near human settlements, while tree sparrows are more associated with agricultural landscapes. Both species have distinct coloration patterns. Hodina Země je akce, kterou organizuje světová ochranářská organizace World Wildlife Fund (WWF) s cílem zvýšit informovanost o změnách klimatu. Během této akce domácnosti, podniky a veřejné instituce vypínají své osvětlení a elektrické spotřebiče na jednu hodinu od 20:30 do 21:30 místního času. Loňský ročník akce se v ČR zapojilo 133 obcí, 84 organizací a firem, 4 památky a 790 jednotlivců, kteří si stanovili klimatický závazek. Většina z nich se zavázala ušetřit 2200 tun skleníkových plynů ročně. Města a menší sídla mají důležitou roli při snižování emisí skleníkových plynů v souladu s cíli EU, a proto je tato akce pro ně velmi relevantní.

Je to týždeň, kedy môžeme večer obdivovať nekonečnú vznešenosť nočnej oblohy. Kvôli svetelnému znečisteniu však vidíme iba malú časť hviezd. Akékoľvek umelé svetlo, ktoré nie je nevyhnutne potrebné, je znečisťujúca látka s vážnymi a škodlivými následkami. Die Idee eines massiven ökologischen Happenings wurde vom Senator Gaylord Nelson (1916-2005) entwickelt, der sich lange Zeit dafür einsetzte, Umweltfragen auf die politische Agenda zu bringen. In den USA trug er unter anderem zum Verbot des Pestizids DDT und des Kampfgases Agent Orange bei. Im Jahr 1970 schloss sich Nelson mit dem Aktivisten Daniel Hayes zusammen, der im April eine Aktion von Tausenden von Hochschulen und Universitäten aus allen Teilen der USA koordinierte. Über 20 Millionen Amerikaner beteiligten sich daran. Zu dieser Zeit gab es immer wieder Proteste gegen die Konsumgesellschaft, den Establishment oder den Vietnamkrieg. Die Aktion, bei der die Organisatoren unter anderem die Nutzung erneuerbarer Energien, das Recycling von Abfällen und die Beseitigung von Chemikalien, die die Ozonschicht zerstören, forderten, erfüllte ihren Zweck. Bereits im Dezember 1970 wurde die US-Umweltbehörde EPA gegründet und in den 70er Jahren wurden im Kongress mehrere Umweltgesetze und bedeutende gesetzgeberische Maßnahmen verabschiedet, wie das Luftreinhaltegesetz oder das Gesetz zum Schutz gefährdeter Arten. Im Jahr 1971 wurde dieser Feiertag erstmals von den Vereinten Nationen anerkannt und am 20. März 1971 begangen.
In den folgenden Jahren verbreitete sich der Earth Day auf der ganzen Welt. Im Jahr 1990 erreichte er anlässlich des 20. Jahrestages des US-Earth Day eine Massendimension, an der sich 200 Millionen Menschen in 140 Ländern, einschließlich der Tschechoslowakei, beteiligten. Zum ersten Mal beteiligte sich auch China an der Aktion. Die globale Aktion half unter anderem, die öffentliche Meinung auf den ersten Erdgipfel vorzubereiten, der zwei Jahre später in Rio de Janeiro stattfand.

Proto vznikla iniciativa "Za pokusy bez zvířat", která se snaží získat 1 milion podpisů pro ochranu spotřebitelů a životního prostředí. Cílem je změnit legislativu a postupně ukončit veškeré testování na zvířatech v EU. V Česku je použití a zacházení se zvířaty pro pokusné účely upraveno zákonem o ochraně zvířat proti týrání a dalšími předpisy.

Etwa 150.000 Tiere, die als Versuchstiere aufgeführt sind, sind jedoch in Wirklichkeit beringte Vögel. Das Leben der Labortiere ist von großem Leid geprägt und wir sollten uns für ihre Rechte einsetzen. Obwohl Tierversuche zweifellos zu Fortschritten in der Medizin und anderen Naturwissenschaften führen, wurden Millionen von Tieren auch für Tests von Chemikalien oder Kosmetika verwendet. Es ist kein Geheimnis, dass Tiere bei solchen Tests unglaublich leiden. Obwohl seit 2004 in der EU das Testen von Kosmetika an Tieren verboten ist, gibt es immer noch Tests für kosmetische Inhaltsstoffe, da die Europäische Chemikalienagentur ECHA Tests für die Registrierung einzelner chemischer Substanzen verlangt. Einige Organisationen haben sich daher zur Initiative "Für Tierversuchsfreie Tests" zusammengeschlossen, um eine Petition zu unterzeichnen, die darauf abzielt, 1 Million Unterschriften zu sammeln, um die Europäische Kommission dazu zu bringen, sich mit den Forderungen der Initiative zu befassen. Tierversuche sind in europäischem und tschechischem Recht definiert und geregelt. Die Verwendung und der Umgang mit Tieren für Versuchszwecke werden durch das Gesetz Nr. 246/1992 über den Schutz von Tieren vor Misshandlung und die entsprechenden Verordnungen, das Gesetz Nr. 418/2012 über den Schutz von Tieren bei der Tötung, das Gesetz Nr. 419/2012 über den Schutz von Versuchstieren und das Gesetz Nr. 166/1999 über die tierärztliche Versorgung und die Änderung einiger damit zusammenhängender Gesetze teilweise geregelt.

The use of animals in experiments is a great suffering, and we should stand up for their rights. Despite the ban on testing cosmetic products on animals in the EU since 2004, testing of cosmetic ingredients still occurs due to the requirements of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) for the registration of chemicals. Therefore, some organizations have formed the initiative "Za pokusy bez zvířat" (For experiments without animals) to gather 1 million signatures for the European Commission to address their demands. These demands include protecting and strengthening the ban on testing cosmetic products on animals, changing the EU regulation on chemicals to ensure the protection of human health and the environment without additional animal testing requirements, and modernizing science in the EU by gradually ending all animal testing before the end of the current electoral term. The use and treatment of animals for experimental purposes are regulated by Czech and European laws.

V Česku se ročně využívá kolem 300 tisíc zvířat pro testování a výzkum. Přestože použití zvířat v pokusech přináší pokrok v medicíně, zvířata při tom neskutečně trpí. Od roku 2004 je v EU zakázáno testování kosmetických výrobků na zvířatech, ale stále se provádějí pokusy na kosmetických přísadách. Proto vznikla iniciativa Za pokusy bez zvířat, která se snaží získat 1 milion podpisů pro ochranu spotřebitelů a životního prostředí. However, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization notes that the market demand for tuna remains high and that there is still significant overcapacity in tuna fishing fleets.

Addressing the decline of tuna populations due to overfishing in the world's oceans emphasizes the crucial importance of effective implementation of the international legal framework, as reflected in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), widely known as UNCLOS, strengthened by the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries, the United Nations Fish Stocks Agreement, recommendations of its assessment conferences, annual resolutions of the General Assembly on sustainable fisheries, and other efforts by the international community at the global, regional, and national levels.

Forest kindergartens have been established in several countries, including Denmark, France, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, Romania, Italy, the United States, Turkey, Spain, Japan, China, Vietnam, Finland, Poland, Canada, and Germany.

Medzinárodný deň lesných škôlok, ktorý sa každoročne oslavuje 3. mája, je príležitosťou ukázať, aké pozitívne veci sa skrývajú za pojmom lesná škôlka. Tento rok je zameraný na tému klidu, odpočinku a spánku. Lesné škôlky majú pre rok 2023 zvolenú tému "LESsnění", aby ukázali, ako v lesných škôlkach prebieha odpočinok a spánok ako základná potreba detí. Osveta o spánku a odpočinku v lesných škôlkach je súčasťou kampane, ktorá sa zameriava na rodičov a členov Asociácie lesných materských škôl. V rámci kampane sa budú riešiť aj mýty a predsudky spojené so spánkom a odpočinkom v lesných škôlkach. Asociácia lesných materských škôl funguje už 10 rokov a má 150 členov. Lesné škôlky sa rozšírili do viacerých krajín a ich cieľom je poskytovať dobré podmienky pre vzdelávanie predškolských detí v prírode.

Some of the upcoming events include excursions to bird parks, bird watching trips, and a night nature walk. There will also be a special event on May 10th about the most common bird songs in spring, led by expert Ondřej Belfín. Česká společnost ornitologická každoročně pořádá akci Vítání ptačího zpěvu, která se koná na stovce míst po celé republice. Během této akce jsou připraveny vycházky do přírody, kde se můžete seznámit s probouzející se jarní přírodou a také s ochranou ptáků. Hlavním termínem akce je první květnový víkend, ale některé akce se konají i v jiných termínech. V rámci akce jsou také připraveny ukázky kroužkování výstavky ptačích budek. Mezinárodní týden kompostování, který pořádá Asociace CZ Biom, nabízí návštěvníkům zapojených kompostáren možnost si zdarma odnést pytel kompostu na své zahrádky. Cílem akce je upozornit na důležitou roli kompostáren při zpracování bioodpadů a jejich využití jako hnojiva na půdu. Kompost má mnoho pozitivních účinků na půdní vlastnosti, například zvyšuje množství organické hmoty v půdě, zlepšuje její strukturu a zpracovatelnost, upravuje pH půdy, poskytuje živiny rostlinám a snižuje riziko výskytu chorob a škůdců.

In der Woche vom 7. bis 13. Mai findet die traditionelle Internationale Kompostwoche der CZ Biom Association statt. Im Rahmen dieser Veranstaltung können Besucher von Kompostanlagen kostenlos einen Sack Kompost für ihre Gärten mitnehmen. Die Aktion soll auf die wichtige Rolle von Kompostanlagen bei der Verarbeitung von Bioabfällen und ihrer Wiederverwendung als Dünger aufmerksam machen. Teilnehmende Kompostanlagen stellen mehrere Tonnen Kompost zur Verfügung, die die Menschen selbst in Säcke füllen und mitnehmen können. Kompost hat eine Vielzahl positiver Auswirkungen auf die Bodeneigenschaften, wie die Erhöhung des organischen Materials im Boden, die Verbesserung der Bodenstruktur und die Bereitstellung von Nährstoffen für Pflanzen.

The traditional International Composting Week organized by the CZ Biom Association is taking place from May 7th to 13th. As part of the event, participating composting facilities are offering visitors the opportunity to take a bag of compost for their gardens free of charge. The aim of the event is to highlight the important role of composting facilities in processing organic waste and reusing it as fertilizer. Several composting facilities are participating in the event and will provide bags of compost for visitors to collect.

Compost has a number of positive effects on soil properties. It increases the amount of organic matter in the soil and reduces erosion. It also improves soil structure and workability, which is important for farmers. Additionally, compost application can adjust the pH of the soil and provide nutrients, replacing the need for synthetic fertilizers. V týždni od 7. do 13. mája sa koná tradičný Medzinárodný týždeň kompostovania. Asociácia CZ Biom už tretí rok po sebe pripravuje tematickú výzvu s názvom "NAKOPEJ SI PYTEL", v rámci ktorej si návštevníci zapojených kompostární môžu odniesť pytel kompostu na svoje záhrady zdarma. Cieľom akcie je poukázať na dôležitú úlohu kompostární pri spracovaní bioodpadov a ich opätovného využitia ako hnojiva pre pôdu. Zúčastnené kompostárne vyhradia niekoľko ton kompostu, ktorý si ľudia budú môcť sami nakopať do pytle a odviezť. Kompost má celý rad pozitívnych účinkov na pôdne vlastnosti, ako je zvyšovanie množstva organického materiálu v pôde, zlepšovanie jej štruktúry a zpracovateľnosti, upravovanie pH pôdy, zvyšovanie výnosovej stability plodín, poskytovanie živín, ochrana vody pred eutrofizáciou a zlepšovanie zadržiavania vody v pôde.

Der Welt-Esel-Tag ist eine Hommage an eines der widerstandsfähigsten und angesehensten Tiere aus der Pferdefamilie. Im Laufe der Geschichte dienten Esel auf der ganzen Welt als Reittiere und Lastenträger in einigen der anspruchsvollsten Gelände und unter widrigen klimatischen Bedingungen, und das mit Stolz und Ausdauer. Es ist nicht überraschend, dass der Erfolg dieser Tiere teilweise auf ihren sturen Charakter zurückzuführen ist, und der Welt-Esel-Tag ehrt sie zusammen mit ihren möglicherweise lobenswerteren Eigenschaften.

Zwei Unterarten des Esels, der Somali- und der Nubier-Esel, wurden gemeinsam gezüchtet, um das zu produzieren, was wir als modernen Esel betrachten. Verfügbare Beweise deuten darauf hin, dass der Esel seit 4000 v. Chr. höchstwahrscheinlich in Nubien als vielseitigeres und widerstandsfähigeres Packtier als das Rind gearbeitet hat, das zu dieser Zeit verwendet wurde. Seitdem wurden sie gezüchtet und über die ganze Welt transportiert, während sich Kulturen bewegten und die Welt expandierte, und jetzt sind sie fast überall zu finden.

Ohne die Hilfe von Eseln ist es schwer vorstellbar, dass die moderne Welt entstanden wäre. Diese widerstandsfähige Herde lieferte der Zivilisation die Antriebsenergie, die zur Schaffung von Wohlstand lange vor der Erfindung von Dampfenergie oder Elektrizität benötigt wurde. Aus diesem Grund betrachten viele Menschen Esel als ebenso grundlegend für unsere Gesellschaft wie das Schreiben, die Keramik und die Metallurgie.

Der Welt-Esel-Tag feiert ihren stoischen Geist und ihren individuellen Charme. Diese Kreaturen fürchten keinen harten Tag. Tatsächlich haben sie dieses Konzept im Grunde erfunden. Esel ziehen Karren, bedienen Mühlen und tragen Lasten über Meilen und Meilen, lange nachdem andere Arten aufgegeben hätten. Aus diesem Grund haben sie einen besonderen Platz in unseren Herzen. Als Anerkennung für all diese harte Arbeit gründete er eine Facebook-Gruppe, die Prüfungen und Leiden dieser Art auf der ganzen Welt dokumentierte. Schließlich entstand im Jahr 2018 die Idee, den Welt-Esel-Tag zu veranstalten, und seitdem feiern wir ihn.

Svetový deň oslov je prejavom úcty k jednému z najodolnejších a najváženejších zvierat zo skupiny koňovitých. Dva poddruhy osla, somálsky a núbiský, boli vyšľachtené spolu, aby produkovali moderného osla. Světový den pro spravedlivý obchod se slaví od roku 2002 a v Česku od roku 2004. V ČR je vrcholem oslav piknikový happening Férová snídaně, kterého se účastní přes 8000 lidí. Cílem je podpora pěstitelů z celého světa. Světový den pro fair trade upozorňuje na nespravedlivé podmínky, ve kterých žijí pěstitelé ve zemích Afriky, Asie a Latinské Ameriky. Spotřebitelé nemohou ignorovat rizika spojená s takovým nastavením světového obchodu, jako je porušování lidských práv nebo ničení životního prostředí. Zapojení pěstitelů do systému Fairtrade jim přináší spravedlivou odměnu, možnost posílat děti do školy a demokratické rozhodování o bonusovém fairtradovém příplatku. Dále se pěstitelé podílejí na rozhodování o celém systému Fairtrade a dbají na dodržování lidských práv a ochranu životního prostředí. Der Welttag des fairen Handels wird seit 2002 weltweit gefeiert. In Tschechien wurde dieser Tag erstmals im Jahr 2004 begangen. Seit 2011 ist der Höhepunkt der Feierlichkeiten in Tschechien das Fairtrade-Frühstück, ein Community-Picknick, das von Freiwilligen an fast 200 Orten im Land organisiert wird und über 8000 Menschen zusammenbringt. Damit wird Unterstützung für lokale und internationale Produzenten zum Ausdruck gebracht. Der Welttag des fairen Handels bietet uns die Möglichkeit, auf Dinge aufmerksam zu machen, die den meisten Menschen verborgen bleiben, nämlich dass diejenigen, die die Waren für unseren täglichen Konsum anbauen und herstellen, oft unter sehr schlechten und unwürdigen Bedingungen leben. Im Lieferketten, an deren Ende wir als Kunden stehen, haben Produzenten aus Afrika, Asien und Lateinamerika eine sehr schwache Position. Wir versuchen darauf hinzuweisen, dass wir als Verbraucher die mit solch einer Handelsordnung verbundenen Risiken nicht ignorieren können, wie zum Beispiel Menschenrechtsverletzungen oder Umweltzerstörung, sagt Lubomír Kadaně, Direktor der gemeinnützigen Organisation Fairtrade Česko a Slovensko. V jihozápadním Maroku je dominantní dřevinou endemického ekosystému známého jako arganový les. Tento ekosystém je důležitý nejen z hlediska ochrany, ale také pro výzkum a socioekonomický rozvoj. Arganové lesy poskytují lesní produkty, jako je ovoce, krmivo, palivové dřevo a arganový olej, který má mnohostranné využití v medicíně, kulinářství a kosmetice.

Der Arganbaum Argania spinosa ist eine einheimische Art aus der subsaharischen Region Marokkos im Südwesten des Landes, der in trockenen und halbtrockenen Gebieten wächst. Im Südwesten Marokkos ist er die dominante Baumart eines endemischen Ökosystems, das als Arganwald bekannt ist. Die Bestände wurden im Jahr 1998 zum Biosphärenreservat erklärt. Argan forests provide forest products such as fruits and fodder, which are highly valued. The leaves and fruits are edible and form a vital source of feed for all herds, even during periods of drought. The trees are also used as firewood for cooking and heating and have medicinal significance. The globally recognized argan oil, extracted from the seeds, has diverse uses, particularly in traditional and complementary medicine, as well as in the culinary and cosmetic industries.
